Lieberman Software to present Webinar on securing federal information systems

Phil Lieberman

Lieberman Software, a provider of privileged identity management solutions, has announced a specialized webinar for federal IT managers, security directors, information assurance managers, network administrators and other government agency executives charged with security, auditing, risk and regulatory compliance.

Lieberman Software will present "Secure Federal Information Systems with Privileged Identity Management” at 2:00 PM (ET) on August 19. The free Webinar will provide expert insight for locating, managing and securing privileged accounts across federal agency organizations in order to help continuously strengthen systems and prevent access by unauthorized personnel and malicious programs.

Privileged accounts are the so-called “super-user” credentials that system and network administrators, application developers, database administrators and other IT staff use to install, configure and repair applications and hardware throughout the datacenter. In many government agencies, access to privileged accounts is uncontrolled, giving personnel shared, anonymous access to the organization’s most sensitive IT assets. Shared, common privileged passwords can be exploited by insiders and outside attackers alike, creating a significant weak link in the organization’s total security posture.

Lieberman Software government security experts will present solutions to help address the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) which require that agencies adhere to NIST Standards SP 800-53, FIPS 200 and FIPS 199. To comply with these and other security regulations, government information systems must pass periodic, unannounced audits to prove they have a solid security foundation of backend IT controls.

An overview of Lieberman Software's Enterprise Random Password Manager (ERPM) solution will also be presented during the Webinar. ERPM is the first privileged identity management solution to automate the tasks of locating, inventorying, organizing and managing the thousands of privileged account passwords dispersed throughout customer datacenters.

ERPM has earned government market accolades including being named a finalist for Best Authentication/Identification Product in the GSN Annual Homeland Security Awards competition, said :ieberman in a prepared statement issued on August 9.

Lieberman Software also currently holds multiple Gov/MIL compliance awards including the U.S. Army Certificate of Networthiness (CON).

“Large government enterprises are a primary market for privileged identity management solutions like ERPM,” said Philip Lieberman, president and CEO of Lieberman Software. “These agencies are adept at recognizing the need to defend against the rapidly escalating security threats, including both internal and external attacks.”
