HOB, Inc., based in Hawthorne, NY and KOBIL Systems, based in Germany, a manufacturer of innovative and highly secure IT solutions in the field of digital identity, announced a strategic partnership to deliver a remote access solution for secure mobility. The joint solution, HOB Planet mIDentity, is based on KOBIL's mIDentity smartcard technology and incorporates HOB's flagship Remote Desktop VPN solution.
The HOB Planet mIDentity is an easy-to-use USB device that supports Windows, Mac or Linux computers and enables secure mobile access to company resources from anywhere in the world. Once the USB is inserted into the port of an Internet-ready workstation, immediate access to a company Intranet is gained without any previous installation of software or drivers.
“We look forward to working with KOBIL and are confident that the HOB Planet mIDentity will achieve a great market response as security and mobility are two areas in high demand by enterprise organizations,” said Klaus Brandstätter, CEO of HOB, Inc.
KOBIL’s mIDentity is a smartcard reader with encrypted memory in a USB form factor, offering a highly secure solution while preventing unwarranted third-party access. The HOB Remote Desktop VPN solution complements KOBIL’s smartcard technology and delivers the components for simple, secure and flexible access to corporate data and applications. These two technologies have come together for the first time and will provide a unique ease of use.
“We are proud to join forces with HOB to support the development of the HOB Planet mIDentity,” explained Ismet Koyun, CEO of KOBIL. “It will offer users secure remote access to any Internet-enabled computer as well as reduce IT administration efforts. We expect a groundswell of interest from our customers for this user-friendly and highly secure solution.”
