Xceedium appoints EVP of global sales

Jersey City, NJ-based Xceedium, Inc., a provider of identity-based access control solutions, has appointed industry veteran Jay Zimmet as executive vice president of global sales.
Zimmet, who brings more than 20 years of experience in network security sales to Xceedium, will be responsible for driving the company’s sales revenues, the company says.
Zimmet joins Xceedium after serving as vice president, North American sales, for Verizon Business’ Security Products and Services group.
Prior to Verizon Business, Zimmet was vice president of worldwide sales at NetSec Inc., a provider of managed security services that was acquired by Verizon Business.
Prior to NetSec, Zimmet headed worldwide sales for Sanctum Inc., a provider of Web application security tools.
“Zimmet’s demonstrated success in opening new markets and launching products across multiple market segments, and his long-standing relationships within Fortune 2000 companies, federal agencies and state government, will provide Xceedium with a strategic competitive advantage,” the company’s announcement said.
