Waukesha, WI-based Magnasphere reports that its new high-security sensor, HSS, has completed its UL inspections and is ready to ship.
It now meets the UL 634 Level 2 high security standard, a company executive told GSN.
Additionally, the HSS meets the UL 913 standard for use in hazardous locations, and is an “intrinsically safe simple apparatus,” Magnasphere says.
The company’s HSS devices incorporate hermetically sealed switch technology and “complete epoxy encapsulation of all electrical components and magnetic actuation,” according to a product spec sheet.
An OEM agreement with a “leading security products manufacturer” is imminent, the company adds.
Magnasphere is a privately held company that specializes in providing magnetic contact sensor technology to the residential, commercial and federal government security markets. It characterizes its patented technology as an “affordable and more effective alternative to reed switch based security contacts.”
