GSN announces finalists in its homeland security awards competition

GSN: Government Security News has announced the finalists in 26 different categories in its 1st Annual Homeland Security Awards competition, along with seven preemptive winners in another seven categories.

All winners will be announced – and celebrated -- at a gala dinner GSN is hosting at the Roosevelt Hotel in midtown Manhattan on the evening of Tuesday, October 27, 2009, the night before the opening of two security expos at the Javits Center in New York City – Public Security & Safety and ISC East.

The finalists and winners were selected by a panel of objective and independent judges, according to GSN's editor-in-chief, Jacob Goodwin, who oversaw the evaluation process.

"We received an extraordinary number of entries," said Adrian Courtenay, a managing director of World Business Media, LLC, the owner of GSN: Government Security News. "We have carefully reviewed each entry and are now very pleased to announce an exceptionally strong field of finalists."

Edward Tyler, Publisher of GSN thanked the judges for their hard work, and invited government officials from federal, state and local levels – as well as industry executives from across the country -- to join GSN at the awards ceremony on October 27th.

Information about reserving individual seats, or tables for 10, can be obtained by visiting http://gsnawards.eventbrite.com.

Shouldn't finalists at least have...

Shouldn't finalists at least have to meet qualification requirements for inclusion in the GSA program? We're talking about "Homeland Security" here, and applicants should at least be U.S. manufacturers, with their products having greater than 51% U.S. originated content?
